Event Description
Saturday, January 7, 10am – 11am OR Tuesday, January 10, 10am – 11am
Did you know fire is nature’s way of rejuvenating itself? Fire promotes new growth of plants, as well as fruit and seed production. Most critically, it cleans out accumulated debris such as fallen leaves and branches, reducing the chances of a wildfire and keeping our neighborhood safe. About half the property at Naples Botanical Garden consists of native Florida habitat. To keep this land healthy, the Garden’s Conservation and Natural Resources Team will light a small, controlled fire later this winter. In this program, learn more about how our certified professionals use fire as a land management tool. After a brief presentation indoors, you’ll get to tour the planned burn unit, learn what conditions are needed for a burn prescription, and meet one of our fire experts.
This program is included with Garden admission and free for Members. Please register in advance HERE.
