Event Description
Join us for a unique Garden tour just for Members!
Tours last between 60-90 minutes, and are limited to 12 participants. To allow as many of our Members as possible to experience a tour, we limit each membership household to one tour per series.
Member Insider Tours are free, but advanced registration is required. Walk-ups will not be admitted for these tours. Tours will be held rain or shine. Tour dates will not be rescheduled.
All tours require walking; please wear appropriate clothing. Water is provided at the beginning of the tour, but Members are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle. Members are also encouraged to bring bug spray.
Palms and Cycads
Palms and cycads are sometimes confused with each other, but are not closely related at all. For example, palms are flowering plants, while cycads, an ancient group of plants, are cone-bearing. On this tour, learn how to differentiate between the two groups, see some of the more charismatic palms and cycads in our collection, and discover some of the threats facing some of the species in these groups.
