Dr. Noris Ledesma is a plant collector, traveling around the world specializing in tropical fruits. She has an educational background in Tropical Fruits and Economy, Forestry Engineering, and Environmental Education. She has worked throughout Latin America, Thailand, the Philippines, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India. For over 17 years she has been working at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden as a Curator of Tropical Fruit with emphasis on mango (main), avocado, jackfruit, mamey sapote, canistel, caimito, and Spanish lime. She has authored over a hundred scientific and popular articles on fruit culture in the last decade, as well as coauthored three books, and numerous scientific publications and popular articles. In recent years she has been a contributor to the Miami Herald and to Fairchild’s award-winning “Tropical Garden” magazine, where she has a regular column.
Registration for Lifelong Learning programs can be completed in these ways:

Registration is complete when payment is received. Certain programs fill up quickly and we accept registration on a first come, first served basis. Register early to ensure your program is not cancelled due to low enrollment. If a cancellation is required a refund will be issued.
