From Ceiba speciosa to Tabebuia aurea, two-part botanical names tell a story written in Latin. Once you unlock their secrets, these two words do everything from describing the plant in question, pinpointing its origin, or honoring botanists involved in its history. Never again will the Latin seem irrelevant or off-putting. We’ll see photos of plants that illustrate these stories, and familiarize you with Latinized names that illustrate common characteristics.
- Tuesday, January 23
- 10am – 12pm, FGCU Kapnick Center Buehler Auditorium at Naples Botanical Garden
- $15 Members / $20 Non-Members
