Event Description
Join us for a hands-on and in-depth discussion on natural home and body care products that are simple to make! Participants will leave with sample products and a laminated guide for natural clothes stain removal, as well as an in-depth packet on various homemade care product recipes, like laundry detergent, cold-pressed soap, scouring powder, skin oil cleansing methods, lotion/bar/spray deodorants, dry and liquid shampoo recipes, natural makeup (mascara, foundation, eyeshadow and blush), toothpaste, perfume, and much more. All product recipes are natural and use minimal ingredients. Get ready to find out how easy these products can be to incorporate into your daily lives. The goal of this program is to empower participants and promote a future of wellbeing as you slowly, or quickly, transition to safe, natural, and effective care products!

Briana Marino is a Florida Gulf Coast University alumna, earning her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies in fall 2014. During her studies, Briana lived on a self-sustaining farm, Rancho Margot, through an honors study abroad program. Located in the Arenal region of Costa Rica, Briana found a deep sense of place. Upon return home, she began her own small homestead. As an educator, she hopes to foster a sense of place in the local food community and show her students what sustainable purchasing practices look like through hands-on, in-depth field trips. Currently, Briana is working on developing community workshops to educate the public on a variety of farming practices, cooking, and personal wellness.
