Deana Bess’ life-long passion for gardening and healthy living began as a young girl in a farming community in Northern Michigan. After personally experiencing the powerful healing of organic foods and sustainable living, she has the pleasure and passion to help ohers grow healthy food in a sustainable and earth-friendly way. Deana is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and holds an associate’s degree in Management Information Systems, a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and a master’s degree in Education. In addition to being a certified Square Foot Gardner Instructor, Deana is also a certified Florida Nursey, Growers, and Landscape Association (FNGLA) Horticulture Professional and a Natural-Organic Gardener by Texas Organic Research Center. Currently she works part-time as a gardener at Food and Thought Organic General Store and Café’ in Naples, FL which entails caring for the plants, helping wonderful customers, and hosting classes about gardening.
