Did you know that you can grow many of the herbs and spices that you use, such as black pepper, paprika, cinnamon, vanilla extract, bay leaves, and many more? Did you also know you can grow most of the ingredients to make your own condiments like mustard, nut butters, jellies, salsa, hummus, olives, vinegar, capers, and many more? Having this variety is the true beauty of gardening in a subtropical environment. Don’t miss this fun and informative class!

Adrienne Diaz is a Lee County Master Gardener and a Certified Square Foot Garden Instructor. She has been the project director for the Six Mile Charter Academy School Garden for the last three years and her home garden, Miss Potter’s Place, is a destination for tours on Edible Landscaping along with Backyard Micro Farming. She also leads the Fort Myers Backyard Vegetable Gardening Group which is the key collaborator of the new Holton Eco-Preserve’s Community Garden project.
