School Groups at the Garden

- Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Please complete the forms (which you will receive in your confirmation packet) indicating the exact number of adults and students in your group before you arrive.
- Upon arrival please have the children wait on the bus while one or two adults check in at the front desk to purchase tickets.
- Lunches and coolers can be left on the bus or placed at the Hardwood Hammock Grove

Picnic Facilities
School groups may picnic at the Hardwood Hammock Grove, between the Children’s Garden and the Brazilian Garden. A limited number of covered picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Garden Manners
For the safety and security of our collections and our visitors, the following behavior rules are enforced. NO EATING, RUNNING OR RECKLESS BEHAVIOR is permitted in the Garden.
Please:
- Remain on paths.
- No strollers
- Do not climb trees.
- Keep your voices low so other visitors are not disturbed.
- Do not bring more than the scheduled number of students without notifying the Garden.
- Be prepared to divide students into groups of 10 to 15.
- Provide a name tag for each student and adult.
Chaperones
Teachers should be sure all chaperones understand their duties before the visit. One chaperone per 5 children will be admitted into the Garden free of charge. Bus drivers will be admitted free of charge.
Chaperones should:
- Assist the teacher and docent in providing a positive learning experience.
- Stay with their students at all times and help them move quietly through the Garden.
- Supervise their group and maintain order.
- Not bring children other than those in the class.
- Not talk on cell phones or otherwise disrupt the program.
